Over time, alterations in the color and texture of the skin inevitably occur, due to cumulative sun exposure (hence the term ‘photo aging’). In keeping with Avanti Skin Center’s philosophy to provide treatments individually tailored to your skin’s need, we now have control over all of the treatment parameters required to optimize your results, while maintaining the unique safety and comfort features unique to Cutera®. Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatments address an array of superficial pigment and vascular changes caused by the sun that occur in the surface and mid skin layers. An innovative way to quickly, safely and comfortably stimulate the most superficial collagen layer, improve Rosacea, fade fine veins, and remove sun spots and age spots from your face, chest, arms, and hands without gel or topical anesthetics. The signs of sun damage will flake off after one or more treatments leaving clear, younger looking skin. “Intelligent” Pulse Light, at specific wavelengths seeks out and safely destroys red and brown dyschromia (abnormal pigmentation) at the skin surface. The Cutera® light sources at Avanti utilize state of the art technology to safely and consistently provide you treatments which automatically calibrate with each pulse as well as having continuous feedback contact cooling to add to your safety and comfort. Laser Genesis™ (texture) The Laser Genesis™ technique using the innovative 1064nm ND:YAG laser at Avanti Skin Center improves diffuse textural changes associated with aging skin, which occur primarily in the mid skin layer. The papillary dermis is targeted which stimulates collagen production and reorganization at a level closer to the surface than the Titan™ treatment. Over the course of the treatment schedule, with this FDA approved treatment, pore size is reduced, texture improves, and fine lines and wrinkles diminish. This stimulated superficial collagen contraction and synthesis will also improve the appearance of acne and wound scars. Titan™ (taughtness) This is an inspired way of treating lax skin. Titan™ uses an infrared light to heat the deeper layers of the dermis. This causes the existing collagen to re-coil, much like returning a stretched out spring to its original shape. This immediate change in the collagen structure firms the skin naturally providing immediately visible results in most cases. But there is more. Over the next month this treatment stimulates the skin to produce more young collagen thus further thickening the skin and enhancing the original results. This breakthrough treatment is more comfortable than Thermage™ and has no downtime. In addition, because the energy levels are controlled, there is no risk of damage to the underlying support tissues of the skin causing pits or dimpling.The result is skin that not only looks, but feels firmer. Combining Procedures for Added Dimension Each of these three modalities can be used in combination with the others—on different occasions or during the same visit—to create a synergistic effect where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. For instance, improving both texture and tone, or both tautness and texture, produces an overall effect that almost belies the non-ablative nature of the procedures. In fact, at Avanti Skin Center we often follow Laser Genesis™ with Limelight™ Intense Pulse Light (IPL) during the same visit: patients enjoy the rapid, tangible improvement they see in color, in addition to the more gradual effects of collagen rebuilding. The additive effect may also be attributed to a combined response within the dermis if there is sequential targeting within one treatment session: for instance, the gradual bulk heating of the skin that occurs with a Titan treatment can be “topped off’ with Laser Genesis™, such that each is optimized.
