Dr. Marcela Dominguez Director of Wellness Division
			Dr. Marcela Dominguez is a board certified Family Medicine Physican on staff at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center and in private practice in South Orange County. She holds a BS in Kinesiology from UCLA and an MD from University of California, San Diego. Between her undergraduate work and Medical School, Dr. Dominguez worked as a fourth grade teacher for one year. She loves taking care of everyone, and therefore chose to practice Family Medicine. Dr. Dominguez completed her Family Medicine Residency Program at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. As a resident, she knew that she wanted to deliver babies, so she completed additional training in Maternity Care. During this time, she received the Mead Johnson Leadership Award, which annually recognizes only 15 residents nation wide for their leadership and community involvement. Dr. Dominguez graduated as the Chief Resident for Obstetrics at Long Beach Memorial. She has delivered hundreds of babies throughout her professional career. From 1999 to 2006, Dr. Dominguez had a thriving, busy group practice at St. Jude Heritage Health Foundation in Diamond Bar, California. Her ultimate goal was to go into private practice, which she did in July 2006. Dr. Dominguez believes that physicians must be responsible role models for their patients and therefore maintains her health by exercising regularly, eating well, taking nutritional and hormonal supplements to optimize function and prevent illness, and maintaining a healthy balance in her life, in general. She also believes in being actively involved with her community and is a member of the South Orange County Chamber of Commerce, the Orange County chapter of the California Medical Association, Las Comadres Latin American Business Women's Group, and the American Academy of Family Practice. She is also a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine and attends conferences regularly to expand her knowledge and its application to patient care. She enjoys volunteering at local clinics and giving community healthcare seminars. Dr. Dominguez also speaks Spanish and French.
